KIX4OTRS function of the month: new sidebar element Dynamic Fields

The new KIX4OTRS 7 offers a new sidebar element that allows a direct access to the Dynamic Fields.

The Dynamic Fields get more attention and popularity as classification parameters for ticket processing. They make it also easier to set automatic actions based on a set Dynamic Field values and they are very often used for better reporting. Some Dynamic Fields are in use just in specific cases, some almost always – independently from the ticket type.

The direct access to the Dynamic Fields can be activated in the administration interface. The admin sets which Dynamic Fields can be shown in the additional element of the ticket sidebar. The agents can select from the activated list of Dynamic Fields, which fields should be displayed individually. The fields can be edited directly in the sidebar element and the changes have to be confirmed with the special “update” button within the sidebar element.
