PRESS RELEASE

cape IT: Chemnitz IT company looks back on another successful year

Cape IT, developer and service provider of the management software KIX, has come through the past year successfully despite Corona. Compared to the previous year, revenues remained stable, and cape IT was also able to acquire new customers in the DACH region. In recent years, the software company has successfully supported numerous companies in their IT planning. After there had already been increased demand from hospitals, there were now more inquiries from public-sector clients, public utilities and banks.

The digitalization push was particularly noticeable for the service experts from Chemnitz after the initial Corona shock had been overcome and a certain normality had returned. Demand for KIX Cloud increased. It was excellently received thanks to the SetupAssistant, which makes it easier for customers to get started. Customers were also very interested in support for security and data protection management workflows. This was driven by necessary risk prevention against cybercrime in system-relevant areas such as hospitals or public administration.

In addition to some challenges, however, the year brought mainly positive highlights for cape IT. In March, KIX was released in the new version 18, which will be handed over to all users in the next two years. In addition, the still widely used version KIX Pro 17 received ITIL certification for two additional processes. The Field Agent, the revised mobile app for KIX, was also well received by customers. The annual user conference at cape IT's headquarters in Chemnitz, where software and updates were presented in detail, had been unceremoniously converted from a face-to-face to an online event. Customer feedback on this new format was overwhelming.

CEO Rico Barth: "2020 brought many restrictions, but we were able to handle all projects and look back on a successful year. Our team demonstrated maximum flexibility, and we are proud of that. We also implemented online workshops and our virtual documentation service, and took our English website plus newsletter on the road. Our team has done a fantastic job, on site and in the home office. This gives us great confidence and serenity for 2021."

In the new year, cape IT aims to win more customers and partners in Switzerland and Austria. There will also be an increased focus on ITIL and ITSM, especially with ITIL v4 certification for KIX Pro 18. In addition, the company is looking ahead to numerous migration projects, with customers switching from KIX Pro 17 to 18.
