REVIEW OF THE #KIXKONF2020 ONLINE EVENT

At 10:00 on March 18, 2020, the moment had finally arrived: It was time for our 007 KIX opener to kick off this year's online event.
THE VERY FIRST DIGITAL KIX USER CONFERENCE
The 9th KIX user conference was all set to be a real highlight. In keeping with our motto for the event – "Großes Kino" [Big cinema] – we had chosen a traditional movie theater in Chemnitz to set the stage for showcasing the new KIX 18, where we would draw back the curtain on the new world of KIX. More than 140 participants were set to attend the premiere of the new KIX Pro 18 service management software at the Metropol Kino Chemnitz movie theater and find out the latest information first hand. However, the increasingly difficult situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic made it necessary to rapidly re-plan the entire event.
Within just a few hours, the organizers decided to make the KIX user conference a livestream – you could say this marked the birth of the digital KIXKonf2020. Rico Barth explained: "Our customers know us as a flexible, reliable, and prudent partner, traits which are underlined once more by this new format for our user conference. It goes without saying that it was not easy for us to decide to hold the event in a different format than was originally planned. An unbelievable amount of hard work and passion had gone into the event, but we took it as a challenge to completely revamp it in the space of 120 hours. We had to give our all, but ultimately succeeded. This meant that, despite the ban on business travel, all customers and interested parties were still able to find out about the new KIX Pro 18 service management system."
At 10:00 on March 18, 2020, the moment had finally arrived: It was time for our 007 KIX opener to kick off this year's online event. In a short speech Rico Barth, Managing Director of cape IT, introduced the viewers to the items on the agenda. After thanking the service providers, sponsors, and employees who helped to get this online event up and running so quickly, he passed the floor to Torsten Thau, KIX Product Owner. Torsten presented the familiar KIX 17 products in his presentation "KIX 17 – The Original Series", before moving straight on to the highlight of the program that everyone had been waiting for: The exclusive presentation of the new KIX Pro 18 service management software – including the new Field Agent App and Self Service Portal. The new KIX world was very well received indeed, and made for a fascinating morning event.
After a short break, Torsten and his colleagues René Böhm and David Hein presented the benefits of the new open-source product in their online workshop "KIX 18 – Getting Started." The contemporary user interface also went down well with the viewers in the live chat. They were able to ask questions live to the presenters, who then answered them straight away. Another highlight was the "look behind the scenes", which has now become part and parcel of the user conference and gave all participants a much better idea of what they can expect from the new KIX Pro.
