A few weeks ago a rumor appeared online about the business model used by OTRS AG. The flames of this were also fanned by a blog entry by Martin Gruner, head of development at OTRS AG. Now, it appears that the rumor has indeed come true: OTRS AG is set to change its business model.
This news naturally caused concern among the community and caused some to ask Rico Barth, Managing Director of cape IT, what this would mean: "We were asked whether we, too, would be making changes to KIX or KIX Professional. However, we can put our users', customers', and partners' minds at rest. We will continue to offer our software under open-source license. That was always one of our hallmarks, and it will remain so in the future, too."
