Rico Barth was unanimously re-elected to his position at this year's OSBA General Assembly on November 14 in Berlin.
We have some Herculean tasks ahead of us!
Rico Barth is very happy and thanks for the trust: "Since the founding of the OSB Alliance 13 years ago, I have been committed to a cause close to my heart: open source and transparency, digital sovereignty and open standards; in other words, a free IT culture, free from proprietary shackles and outrageous monopolists. Although we have come a long way, the government's retreat on open source and its self-inflicted dependence on Microsoft, for example, show that we still have some Herculean tasks ahead of us. I am ready for this challenge. Let's tackle it.
As a long-time member of the Extended Board and spokesperson for the Events Working Group, Rico Barth works to promote interaction among OSBA members and to communicate the benefits of the association to the outside world through event formats such as Members & Products, OSBA Connect, and other events. He also supports and serves as a liaison to the Business and Industry Task Force.
Open Source Business Alliance
The OSB Alliance - Bundesverband für digitale Souveränität e.V. - represents over 200 member companies in the open source industry, employing approximately 95,000 people in Germany. Its mission is to establish open source as a standard in public procurement, research and business development.
